Mach - 마하


Introduction
유체의 속도와 그 유체 속을 전파하는 음속와의 비를 말하며, 흔히 마하 수(Mach Number)라고 함. 마하 1은 대략 시속 1,200km에 해당하며, 호로는 M1으로 표기함. 오스트리아의 물리학자 Ernst Mach의 이름에서 따옴.


Definition
An expression of the speed at which an object is moving through a fluid medium according to
the Mach number, which relates the speed of the object to the speed of sound. An airplane traveling
at Mach 1 is moving at the speed of sound, and Mach 2 is twice the speed of sound. (From Ernst Mach.)
